Kite Runner Chapter 8
I really didn't care for this chapter. From Amir throwing pomogranites at Hassan to Hassan having to serve Assef and the boys drinks, things just don't seem right. For one, who throws a pomagranite at someone. Amir was doing it out of frustration and you can tell he has a million emotions. I know he feels guilt for what Hassan went through, but at the same time he is ignoring Hassan and not being a friend when Hassan needs him. I did like the part when Amir asked Baba if he ever though about getting new servants because Baba acknowleged that Ali was like family and so was Hassan. I was glad to finally hear them acknowledge the relationship between the two groups. Going back to the pomagranite part, I so desparately wanted Hassan to just stand up. I can't imagine living a life where I couldn't fight back for equal treatment. It would have been so easy for him to just nail Amir with a pomagranite. Part of me admires how loyal and kind hearted he is, but at the same time I just want him to stand up for himself.
